Since the late 90s Josh Hoover's primary musical output has been as a drummer for many lovable bands out of the Dallas-Fort Worth area, while also quietly home producing electronic computer music, eventually incorporating all manner of budget hardware synthesizers, drum machines, and effects starting around 2015. One particularly wild set up was dubbed the Hoovobot.

Following the COVID-19 pandemic and a move to Milwaukee in 2021, and with no bands to play drums for, he focused on releasing multiple Hoovobot singles, EPs, and LPs on his own Common Synths Records.

The music usually leans heavily on sample based beats, creative sequencers, tape style loopers, lots of reverb and delay, and a mix of analog, FM, and digital synthesizers. Instrumental electronic beats of no particular genre just trying to catch a vibe. Ambient tape loop explorations. Boom bap chip goofs. It's Hoovobot.
